How water and food have different effects on us…

As we all know both food and water are essential to our life, health and wellbeing. Each affect and support us in totally different ways and it is good to know when we feel empty which we are really needing. Water works much more on our essence, our self expression and our emotions; anything creative, moving, flowing. When we feel low or upset it is water that will harmonise and balance us; lift our head into a space of clarity. Food is much more earthing and grounding, warming and nurturing. When we are scattered, exhausted or physically stressed then food will calm us, root us and help us to unburden. Together and in healthy amounts food and water enable us to root ourselves into dynamic certainty of presence and surrender to the flow and discovery of our inner nature. Dynamic presence and true flowing expression. Wow.

Memory re the positive effect of water…
On the subject of drinking more water, this has inspired another memory. Possibly the first time the subject was stressed to me as being important. At that time I was developing as a Medium and about to stand up in front of my first practice audience (a church full of about 40 perfect strangers). I cannot tell you how extreme the nerves were and many people advised me to drink a lot of water as it ‘helps the connection’. I did so and was literally amazed at how my energy lifted and cleared through the day leading up to the demonstration. Pure aliveness, vibrancy and connected flow. I was left on a high, and yes, had to rush to the ladies immediately I finished. For anyone doing any type of energy work or meditation, I can say, through experience, that drinking plenty of water makes for a heightened and more definite connection.
n.b. Mediumship is acting as a translator between the ongoing energy of a person who has passed on from this life and their loved one’s left behind. I no longer work as a Medium, but sometimes find this type of connection happens within a reading, if it is meant to.

Remembering to drink enough water…
Yes, being clairvoyant is a bonus in my life – but with it comes an extreme of sensitivity and openness and the need to constantly remember to bring myself back into my own centredness and the practicalities of life. So often I get caught up in the work and forget myself in the process (this tendency is in the process of definite change).
Often I wake up in the morning with guidance, or ask and write answers, then find them 6 months later and think ‘if only…I had remembered what I wrote and followed it!’. One of these constant reminders, that raises itself into my consciousness, is to drink more water. I do have a resistance to this in that as a child I didn’t drink much water or like it. Now I love it, but often forget that I love it when that ‘child’ consciousness switches back in. Probably the clearest reminder, and a picture that comes to mind if I forget, is when I was in Australia and often drove past a place where a number of houses were being built. Not realizing that my windscreen water had run out, I tried to clean my dusty screen. Of course all that happened was the wipers made a great deal of mess and it became almost impossible to see clearly. I stopped and nodded my gratitude and acceptance to those guiding powers that be. If I want a crystal clear consciousness and vibrant energy, flowing ideas and healthy emotions, water is essential. Otherwise my mind and energy become stuck and heavy like that windscreen. When I remember to drink enough I find my energy buzzes, especially when writing or creating – it enhances the flow and the enjoyment of the work. Also when I am feeling low or confused, a glass of water and a few minutes of conscious breathing brings such relief and instant reconnection to a much better level of awareness.
So, if, like me, you have something that you know will improve the quality of your life, but which you forget or avoid, let’s make a resolve today to bring that one good thing more fully, consciously and consistently into effect.
